Our Commitment

Settle and Source™ is built on the belief that real support should be available to everyone in real moments. That means accessibility is not an afterthought. It is part of what we are building.

We are committed to making Settle and Source™ as accessible as possible for all users, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing process and not a destination, and we are committed to continuous improvement.

If you encounter any barrier to accessing Settle and Source™, please tell us. Your feedback is one of the most important ways we can improve. We will always respond to accessibility concerns promptly and with care.

02

Accessibility Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are internationally recognised and cover a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA addresses the needs of users with a broad range of disabilities including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

As Settle and Source™ is currently in its early launch phase, we are working toward full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. The current status of our compliance efforts is summarised below.

03

What We Have Done

The following accessibility features are currently in place across the Settle and Source™ app and website.

Visual

  • Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimum requirements across primary text and interface elements
  • Text can be resized up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality
  • The interface does not rely on colour alone to convey information
  • Focus indicators are visible for keyboard navigation

Navigation and interaction

  • All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard navigation
  • Navigation is consistent across all screens
  • Buttons and interactive elements have descriptive labels
  • Forms include clear labels and error messages
  • The app does not use content that flashes or strobes

Content

  • Language is plain, warm, and written at a reading level accessible to a general adult audience
  • Instructions do not rely solely on shape, size, or position to identify elements
  • Error messages are descriptive and tell users what action to take
  • Page titles are descriptive and unique

Screen reader compatibility

  • The app has been tested with VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android
  • Semantic HTML is used throughout to support screen reader navigation
  • Images and icons have appropriate alternative text or are marked as decorative where appropriate
04

Known Limitations

We are honest about where the app currently falls short of full accessibility. The following known limitations are being actively addressed.

Area Limitation Status
Audio content Somatic tools and IFS meditations do not currently have transcripts or captions In progress
Mandala button The animated mandala on the home screen may present challenges for some screen reader users In progress
Colour contrast Some secondary interface elements do not yet meet AA contrast ratios In progress
Formal audit A full formal accessibility audit has not yet been completed Planned
ARIA labels Some complex interface components may not have complete ARIA labelling Planned

If you encounter an accessibility barrier that is not listed here, please tell us. We take all reports seriously and will prioritise fixes that prevent users from accessing core features of the app.

05

Audio Content

Settle and Source™ includes audio content in the form of somatic regulation tools and IFS meditations. We recognise that this content is currently not fully accessible to users who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  • Written transcripts for all somatic tools and IFS meditations are currently being produced and will be added to the app
  • The written descriptions of each audio tool within the Library are designed to give users a clear understanding of the practice even without listening to the audio
  • Users who rely on written content rather than audio can use all other features of the app fully

If you need a transcript for any audio content urgently, please contact us at support@traumareleasecentre.com and we will provide one directly.

06

Device and Browser Support

Settle and Source™ is a progressive web app accessible through a browser on any device. It is designed to work across a wide range of devices and screen sizes.

  • iPhone and iPad using Safari on iOS 14 and above
  • Android devices using Chrome on Android 10 and above
  • Desktop and laptop computers using Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge on current versions

Settle and Source™ has been tested with the following assistive technologies. If you use an assistive technology not listed here and encounter problems, please let us know.

  • VoiceOver on iPhone and iPad with Safari
  • TalkBack on Android with Chrome

If you use a screen reader or other assistive technology and find that any part of the app does not work as you would expect, please contact us. Your specific experience and the technology you use are invaluable in helping us improve.

08

Feedback and Contact

We welcome all feedback about the accessibility of Settle and Source™. If you experience any barrier to access, if something does not work as expected with your assistive technology, or if you have a suggestion for how we can improve, please contact us.

When you contact us about an accessibility issue please include as much detail as you can, including the device and browser or assistive technology you are using, and a description of what you were trying to do and what happened instead. This helps us understand and address the issue as quickly as possible.

We aim to respond to all accessibility feedback within 3 business days.

09

Our Ongoing Commitment

Accessibility is not a box to tick. It is an ongoing commitment that requires regular review, testing, and improvement as the app develops.

  • We will conduct a formal accessibility audit within 6 months of public launch
  • We will add transcripts for all audio content as a priority
  • We will review and update this statement at least annually and whenever significant changes are made to the app
  • We will consult with users who have disabilities as part of our ongoing development process
  • We will prioritise accessibility improvements in our development roadmap

Settle and Source™ exists to provide real support for real moments to as many people as possible. That purpose is only fulfilled if the app is genuinely accessible to everyone who needs it.

Accessibility feedback

Please tell us about any barrier you have encountered. Every report helps us build a more accessible app.
