About Settle and Source™
Settle and Source™ is a daily self-led practice app designed to help people recognise protective patterns before acting from them. It is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and somatic nervous system science.
Settle and Source™ is owned by Angela M Carter and operated under licence by Concinnity Limited, a company registered in New Zealand.
By accessing or using Settle and Source™ you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms please do not use the app or any associated services.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and using Settle and Source™ you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, that you have read and understood these terms, and that you agree to be bound by them.
These terms apply to all users of the app including free trial users, subscribers, and purchasers of premium resources.
Not a Therapy Service
Settle and Source™ is a self-led practice tool. It is not a therapy service, a counselling service, a crisis service, or a substitute for professional mental health support. Nothing within the app constitutes clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, are in distress, or require urgent support, please contact your local emergency services, a crisis helpline, or a qualified mental health professional immediately.
The Wise Self feature within the app is an AI-assisted reflective tool. While it is designed with care and grounded in IFS principles, it does not constitute therapy and should not be used as a replacement for professional support.
Free Trial
New users are offered a free trial period on sign-up. During the free trial you will have access to all features of the app.
- The free trial begins on the date you create your account
- You will be notified before the trial ends with information about subscription options
- No payment is required during the free trial period
- You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge by deleting your account from the settings screen
- If you choose not to subscribe at the end of the trial your access to premium features will cease
Subscriptions
Following the free trial, continued access to Settle and Source™ requires a paid subscription. Current pricing is available within the app and on our website.
Billing
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan selected
- Payment is processed securely at the start of each billing period
- Prices are displayed in the currency applicable to your region
- You will receive a confirmation of each payment by email
Renewal
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
- You will be notified by email before renewal
- You can cancel at any time from the settings screen within the app
Price changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be given at least 30 days notice of any price change before it takes effect. Continued use of the app after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
Premium Journal
The Settle and Source™ Premium Practice Journal is a digital downloadable resource available to premium subscribers. It is a fillable PDF designed as a companion to the app.
- The journal is provided as a digital download upon purchase or as part of a premium subscription
- Once downloaded the file is yours to use for personal practice
- The journal may not be shared, reproduced, distributed, or sold to any third party
- All content within the journal is the intellectual property of Angela M Carter and is protected by copyright law
- As a digital product the journal is not eligible for a refund once downloaded except where required by applicable consumer law
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the settings screen within the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the app until that date.
Refunds
- Subscription payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law
- If you believe you have been charged in error please contact us at support@traumareleasecentre.com within 14 days of the charge
- Users in New Zealand and Australia have additional rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Australian Consumer Law respectively
- Users in the United Kingdom have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
If you are experiencing financial hardship and need to cancel your subscription, please contact us directly. We will always do our best to find a solution that works for you.
Your Data and Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Everything you share within Settle and Source™, including your journal entries, check-ins, reflection log, patterns, and Wise Self conversations, is encrypted and stored securely.
- Your personal data will never be sold to third parties
- Your personal data will never be used for advertising purposes
- Your in-app data is private and will not be accessed by Settle and Source™ staff except where required for the operation of the service or where required by law
- If you have opted in to marketing communications you may receive occasional emails about updates and new features. You can unsubscribe at any time
- Our servers are currently based in the United States. If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom your data is subject to transfer to US-based servers. By creating an account you consent to this transfer
Your Rights
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data and your account:
- The right to access your data by contacting us at support@traumareleasecentre.com
- The right to correct inaccurate data by updating your account information or contacting us
- The right to delete your account and all associated data at any time from the settings screen within the app
- The right to receive a copy of your data by contacting us at support@traumareleasecentre.com
- The right to unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
- The right to object to the processing of your data where applicable under the laws of your jurisdiction

Intellectual Property
All content, design, therapeutic framework, and functionality within Settle and Source™ is the intellectual property of Angela M Carter and is protected by copyright law in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Settle and Source™ is operated under licence by Concinnity Limited. The Settle and Source™ name and logo are trademarks of Angela M Carter.
- You may not reproduce, copy, adapt, distribute, or publish any content from the app or associated resources without the express written permission of Angela M Carter
- You may not use the Settle and Source™ name, logo, or branding in any way without prior written consent
- The parts library, phrase library, somatic tools, IFS meditations, and all written content within the app are original works protected by copyright

Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Settle and Source™, Angela M Carter, and Concinnity Limited will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app or any associated resources.
We do not warrant that the app will be available at all times, error-free, or free from interruption. We will make every reasonable effort to maintain service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence, or for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law in your jurisdiction.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. When we make changes we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you by email if the changes are material.
Continued use of the app following notification of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms you may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand, except where applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
Users in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States retain their rights under applicable local consumer protection legislation, which may provide additional protections beyond those described here.
